Polar Launches Polar Protect to Drive Operational Excellence Across AI Data Centers

New framework focuses on Safety, Stability, Security and Sustainability throughout the data center lifecycle

AI is changing what we build, but it also changes how we need to operate. Building infrastructure is important. Protecting its performance throughout its life is what creates lasting value. ”
— Tom Chubb, COO, Polar Data Centers
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Polar Data Centers today announced the launch of Polar Protect, a new operational framework designed to protect the long-term performance of its growing portfolio of AI-ready data centers.

As hyperscale, AI and HPC demand continue to accelerate, operational excellence is becoming as important as bringing new capacity online. Success means not only delivering infrastructure quickly, but ensuring facilities perform safely, securely, reliably and sustainably throughout their operational life.
Data centers take a relatively short period to build, but operate for decades. Maintaining safety, service availability, security and environmental performance is critical to delivering long-term value for customers.

Tom Chubb, COO of Polar Data Centers, said: "Our industry talks a lot about how many megawatts we’re building and how quickly we can bring them online. That’s important given the pace of AI demand but delivering the building is only the beginning. Polar Protect is about what comes next: protecting our people, customers, infrastructure and the environments in which we operate, while continually improving operational performance”.

Polar Protect is built around four operational pillars:
• Safety – protecting everyone working with Polar through strong standards, accountability and a culture where safety always comes first.
• Stability – protecting customer operations through operational excellence, resilience and service assurance.
• Security – protecting people, infrastructure, information and systems through robust physical and logical security.
Sustainability – delivering measurable environmental performance and protecting the environments and communities in which Polar operates.

The framework is aligned with Polar’s core values of Collaborate, Innovate and Deliver and will be embedded across the organisation through policies, processes, training, performance measures, audits and continual improvement.

The launch also reflects the changing operational requirements of AI infrastructure. Higher power densities, liquid cooling and increasingly complex mechanical and electrical systems are creating new challenges for data center operators, making operational expertise and disciplined lifecycle management increasingly important.

Chubb added:“AI is changing what we build, but it also changes how we need to operate. As facilities become more powerful and complex, operational excellence becomes even more important. Building infrastructure is important. Protecting its performance throughout its life is what creates lasting value. Polar Protect is our commitment to doing both”.
