Biden’s spies investigate foreign nationals visiting Elon Musk’s properties

(MENAFN) During Joe Biden’s presidency, US federal agencies investigated foreign nationals visiting Elon Musk’s properties, according to the Wall Street Journal. The probe, carried out by the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice from 2022 to 2023, focused on individuals from Eastern Europe and other regions suspected of attempting to influence Musk, though no charges were filed.

Musk, who has access to classified information through government contracts but lacks clearance for some of SpaceX’s most sensitive secrets, entered politics in 2022 by acquiring Twitter (now X), criticizing its prior management for allegedly censoring conservative voices. In 2024, he supported Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and served briefly in the Trump administration to reduce government waste. However, their alliance recently deteriorated amid online disputes.

The WSJ report also revealed that Musk’s frequent interactions with foreign nationals raised concerns within his political circles, prompting stringent vetting measures. Additionally, the paper claimed Musk engaged in secret communications with Russian President Vladimir Putin before Trump’s 2024 win, a claim denied by both Musk and the Kremlin.

Following the split with Trump, some Democrats speculate Musk might reconsider his political loyalties, while Musk has suggested creating a new centrist political party to represent the majority of Americans.
